We had a good fishing day and brought our own fish to Salt Cracker Fish Camp. We had a bunch of little Mangrove snapper fillets as well as some really nice size Redfish fillets. They fried the Mangrove snapper and blackened the Redfish. Both were simply amazing! Of course, we knew it was fresh because we had caught it that morning, but they did a beautiful job preparing it. It was genuinely some of the best fish we’ve ever eaten. We could not have been happier with the experience and highly recommend. ⭐️

We stopped into Salt Cracker Fish Camp for an early dinner after taking the ferry over from Coachman Park. We were met and seated immediately by the hostess. We chose outside along the water, but indoor seating was also offered. Our server, Evan, arrived promptly to take drink orders (we ordered sodas) and also offered additional cups of water to go with the drinks. While we decided what we were going to have, Evan advised of some items they were out of, such as being out of Mahi so they were substituting cod. I ordered a shrimp po' boy while my brother had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. Evan alerted my brother that they were out of the seasoning "rub" for the hot chicken, so it was served only as a buffalo chicken sandwich. Both of us had the herb fries as our side. Food arrived quickly and mostly as ordered. My brother had requested that the bun for his sandwich not be toasted, but arrived toasted anyway. No big deal. My shrimp po' boy was decent, and the fries were nicely seasoned. My brother was very happy with his chicken sandwich, commenting multiple times as to how juicy and tender the chicken breast was. Great spot, especially if you take the ferry to the beach, but Rosie is why we’ll come back. Food really good. Had the pulled pork sandwich with the seasoned fries (see my pic) and it was the perfect lunch. Dessert? That’s a no brainer: Flourless chocolate cake, warm gooey center with scoop of vanilla ice cream! But none of that matters in comparison to the service we got. Our waitress, Rosie, was not only ultra cool and friendly but super helpful even making minor suggestions which were spot on on how to order our food. Overall the place is a great spot to sit outside and eat and there is an indoor option for those who are so inclined but, come on! It’s the beach. Thanks Rosie and Salt. 5 stars for you.

Upon arriving we were greeted with a first impression the place just looks dirty and not very well maintained dirty walls and baseboards. Not very pleasing. The food was very good, BUT the beer was warm and not very refreshing. the server was outstanding as We took the ferry over from Dunedin and enjoyed the day out.

I recently stopped by Salt Cracker after a boat ride, and it turned out to be a solid choice for a quick bite by the water. The place was pretty crowded, which is always a good sign, and they offer both indoor and outdoor seating. If you can, definitely sit outside—the waterfront view really adds to the experience and gives it that laid-back Florida vibe. I ordered the hush puppies and shrimp, and both came out hot and fresh. The food was simple but well done—exactly what you want after being out on the water. Customer service was decent, nothing over-the-top, but they kept things moving despite the crowd. I didn’t stay long, but from what I experienced, it’s a spot worth coming back to—especially to explore more of the menu. Between the location, the atmosphere, and the fresh food, it’s an easy add to the “I’ll be back” list. 4.5 stars
